Welcome to SVN Research.

SVN stands for seven — a number that across cultures, history, and nature has long represented completeness and precision. That's the standard this publication holds itself to.

SVN Research is a weekly breakdown of stocks, options, and what's moving in the market. Every edition is built around seven fixed sections — a complete picture of the week, every week. No filler, no hype. Just research, reasoning, and honest documentation of the process.

Before issue one, here is the framework behind everything you will read here.

The Investing Framework

My investment philosophy centers on identifying quality businesses trading at attractive valuations relative to their long-term potential.

I look for companies with strong fundamentals, durable competitive advantages, and meaningful room to grow. Valuation matters, but so does timing — technical analysis and market sentiment help identify favorable entry points and manage risk. The goal is not to chase short-term noise but to find businesses worth owning for years and be disciplined about the price paid to own them.

Each week I will share the companies I am researching, the prices I find attractive, and the reasoning behind those conclusions.

The Options Philosophy

Most investors treat options as speculative instruments. I don't see them that way.

Used responsibly, options are tools — for generating income, improving stock entry prices, hedging portfolio risk, and understanding how markets price uncertainty. My primary focus is on option-selling strategies and using options to support long-term investing decisions rather than replace them.

Along the way I will share what I am learning about derivatives and how they can be incorporated into a disciplined investment process. If you are new to options, that's fine — I will explain the thinking as I go.

What to expect every week:

  1. The Market — what the overall market did and what it means

  2. Stock of the Week — one stock I researched and why

  3. The Setup — the technical and fundamental case

  4. Options Desk — one trade worth watching and the reasoning behind it

  5. Risk on the Table — what could go wrong and what would change my mind

  6. What I Learned — one concept or lesson from the week

  7. The Number — one data point that stood out and why it matters
